ASU, International Business Etiquette - This site should provide the student with a great list of books that cover business etiquette. Check the Online Catalog and with the Reference Librarian for those titles not owned. Some subject-specific websites have been pulled and noted below.

Electronic Embassy

ExecutivePlanet.com, International Business Culture and Etiquette - Essential business culture guides for the international traveller organized alphabetically by country.

Getting through Customs - You will find some great topical articles at the top but take the time to scroll through and down where you will find the "Doing business in..." and "Doing business abroad..." articles.

International Addresses and Salutations

International Business Etiquette and Manners - Organized alphabetically by country with set sections such as: Fun Facts, Geert Hofstede Scores, Appearance, Behavior, Communication, and Resources.

Portals to the World - "Contains selective links providing authoritative, in-depth information about the nations and other areas of the world. They are arranged by country or area with the links for each sorted into a wide range of broad categories. The links were selected by Area Specialists and other Library staff using Library of Congress selection criteria."

TIC, Trade Information Center (U.S. Dept. of Commerce) - Go to "Country Information" and look by region for business travel and etiquette documents found under some countries' listings.

Use the Researching, Evaluating, Citing, Writing, and Check Form links located under the Subject Guides link on the left.  There you will find:

  • Notes and tips on researching

  • Guides to evaluating Internet websites as well as articles

  • Tips for content, structure and grammar

  • A number of citing links in various formats with plenty of examples. (Note: If you do not cite the research/articles you used to write your paper, you will be plagiarizing.)

  • A checklist link for questions to ask yourself concerning the structure and content of your paper after you have finished writing it. Remember to also make use of the Writing Center located in the R building, in the Academic Support Center.
