The Chicago Citation Style was developed by the University of Chicago Press and is the widely accepted citation style within the field of history and is sometimes used within the social sciences. The Chicago Manual of Style (REF Z 253 .U69 2003) is available at the Reference Desk.
Chicago style is broken up into two sub-styles: Author-Date Style, which is used in history, literature, and the fine arts, and Notes & Bibliography Style, which is used in the natural and social sciences.
