The Nursing Assistant II course prepares the student
to perform more complex skills for patients or residents. Emphasis
is placed on:

Oxygen Therapy

Sterile Technique
-
Wound Care
-
Suctioning techniques
-
Tracheostomy Care
-
IV fluids (specific procedures as approved by
the NC Board of Nursing)

Urinary catheterization and irrigation
-
Oral/nasogastric and gastrostomy feeding tubes
-
specific procedures as approved by the NC Board
of Nursing)
-
Ostomy care and elimination procedures
Upon satisfactory completion of the CNA II course the student
will be listed with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
Prerequisites: High School Diploma or GED and current CNA I.
