Nurse Aide Level II - 192 hours

The Nursing Assistant II course prepares the student to perform more complex skills for patients or residents. Emphasis is placed on:
  • Oxygen Therapy
  • Sterile Technique
  • Wound Care
  • Suctioning techniques
  • Tracheostomy Care
  • IV fluids (specific procedures as approved by the NC Board of Nursing)
  • Urinary catheterization and irrigation
  • Oral/nasogastric and gastrostomy feeding tubes
  • specific procedures as approved by the NC Board of Nursing)
  • Ostomy care and elimination procedures

Upon satisfactory completion of the CNA II course the student will be listed with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

Prerequisites: High School Diploma or GED and current CNA I.
